But there wasn't even a measurable amount. Not that I am complaining but the kids are.

Hippo!

Let me set the scene:

Every year at Christmas, M's school does a Christmas concert. Every year every class sings the same song. They sing certain songs that the whole school (Pre K-2) sings. A few kids in the upper grades sing solos.

One of the songs the kids sing solos in is the “I want a Hippopotamus for Christmas” song.

Well, I have just figured out that those teachers and principals are geniuses!

M is belting out that song like nobody’s business. I mean, he knows the words and he is proud to sing them! He wants the whole world to sing with him.

So by the time he is in 1st or 2nd grade he is going to be RUNNING to that mike to do his solo.

Let me tell you: if he breaks out in that song and I am not looking, he sings loud and clear until I do.

Geniuses, I tell you. How else could they get those 1st and 2nd graders to literally run (and they do) to the mike to do their solo in front of hundreds of parents.

I guarantee, if M gets a solo when it is his time, I will invite everyone and their mother to his premier! I will take out hotel rooms for guests.

I am already! Excited!

Big Beagle

L had his three year old check up today. We had some time to kill before we had to go back to pick up M from preschool and so I brought L and O to McDonalds. L had done such a great job at the Dr. and he was so brave that I told him he could have whatever he wanted. He chose a sausage and chocolate shake. Mm, yum

While we were there we chatted with a woman who was in her late 60s or early 70s. She talked about how wonderful L and O were and how I should have more babies and how some people should not “procreate”. She told me all about having just recently retired from 32 years of working at the state. I heard about her two sons and her 5 grandchildren. I heard all about how she moved to Highland Park 15 years ago this October. She told L and O all about her two Persian kitties that she combed every day. L said “I can’t have kitties. My Daddy is electric.” She invited us back to her house to see all the work she had done and to visit. She was such a sweet lady and she is really enjoying her retirement. It was an interesting visit to McDonald’s.

M is getting married. He has a special little girl friend at school and they were busy making things for their wedding today. He came home from school with grand plans for this wedding and how he had to wear his Christmas clothes because it is a special occasion to get married. He also said he needed to take a shower because that how you get cleaner and he is going to use Daddy’s “ka-lem”. Huh? He meant cologne. LOL

L’s derogatory word for the day:

Big Beagle

Used in context: “Mommy, Olivia just hurt me. She’s a big beagle! You just hurt me you big beagle!”

Pictures

Here are some pictures to share

The first is of M at his Christmas Concert at school. A little blurry.

The second is of the three kiddos on Christmas Eve in their new Christmas pajamas.

The third is of the stage at Sesame Street Live! (or Life as Matthew likes to call it)

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year! 2007. . . .

It has been a while. . . .but we are back in business

The tree is down and the decorations put away for another year.

Let’s see, what have we been up to?

The kids have been busy figuring out their new toys.

We had visitors from the north after Christmas. That was great fun! We brought them to some of our favorite kiddy hang outs, watched a good movie or two, brought in the New Year with a bang. Great fun!

Last night we brought the kiddos to see Sesame Street Live at the Giant Center in Hershey. It started at 7 so it was a little bit of a risk for us to do this seeing how that is Princesses night-night time. She did great. She is not a big TV watcher and so I wasn’t sure she would even pay a bit of attention to the show but she did! Out of an hour and a half-I would say she watched 15 minutes. That’s big! Matt walked her around a bit and she flirted with everyone she could. The boys on the other hand were completely engrossed by the show. Luke insisted on sitting on my lap. I think it was a little so he could see and a little security. Matthew sat in his own seat and I even caught him clapping along and singing at times. All in all a good time. I wouldn’t recommend the sno-cones. What a pain in the *&$#. All we wanted was a sweet drink and these things were frozen solid and hard to eat. Aiy! Luke enjoyed a whole box of popcorn for himself.

There isn’t anything hysterically funny that has happened lately. Just plain old days. Tomorrow is supposed to be in the 60s and I am sure we will spend most of the day outside. Hopefully I will have some fun stuff to report.
